What is a Guild?

Historically: A guild was an association of members from a common trade or craft, organized for the self-protection and economic and social gain of its members. Much like modern associations of industrialists, bankers and labor unions.

Today: A guild represents a group of reenactors trying to bring back to living color a particular aspect or focus of renaissance Europe.
